Pada 2 Julai 2011 warga SK Permatang Raja telah mengadakan aktiviti 1 Murid 1 Sukan yang juga dijalankan serentak setiap sekolah seluruh negara.

Name of Program : cITaKU ICT Camp 3

On May 30 to June 9, 2011, cITaKU Labs Sekolah Permatang Raja had a computer program during school breaks. This program was held for students years 3 to 5. Various activities were conducted during the program period.
On the date of May 30 to June 2 2011, the program has started with the class 3 Panglima at 8.30 am to 10.30 am, followed by the 3 Laksamana class from 10.30 to 12.30. Both of these classes have been taught how to open email account on the Yahoo! website. Each student have the opportunity to get their own email accounts. After that, they were introduced with the Skype application, one of the online communication applications. Apparently the students are very excited when they get talking to each other from computer to computer via Skype. The students also had be taught to create animated presentations using powerpoint applications. The fun activity is when the students are given the opportunity to create greeting cards for father’s day using a special application from Serif CraftArtist and they competing to create the most attractive greeting cards.
On the date of June 6 to June 9 2011, the program was held for students in years 4 and 5 from class and Panglima of Laksamana. Activities carried out are the same as has been done with students in years 3 such like create yahoo email account, using Skype online communications and design greeting cards for father’s day using a Serif CraftArtist.
Throughout the program, most of the students are focused on the activities carried out and cannot wait for the next activity. Only a few students not pay attention and only come to the program solely for playing games and watching videos on the internet. Mentality, they assume they already know how to use computers because they have a computer at home so they are less focused.
However, the program goes well with the students who have been adept at using this computer. IT Faci had given them a role to help their friends who have problems using the computer during the activities. This is seen when there was among students embarrassed to ask the IT Faci to teach, but more comfortable when peers teach.
Overall, the program is running smoothly and the students have cooperated with the IT Faci well. It received good response from the school and parents. Most of students cannot wait to participate in the next ICT Camp.
